Travel agency sites
Good design

https://www.kayak.com/packages/cancun
Overall design
8/10
This site seems very inviting and well put together. There are a lot of vacation looking pictures which would draw anyone in to schedule a vacation with them.
Navigation
10/10
The navigation is fairly simple, I love how the navigation tab on the left of the page uses little icons to demonstrate different methods of travel. For example, if someone wanted to fly, they would select the airplane Icon. Or if someone was looking for restaurants, they would click on the silverware Icon. Overall I would say the navigation was pretty simple and maybe outside of the norm.
Functionality
10/10
The functionality of the site is simple and straight forward. It was not hard for me to find information about destinations or even pricing for different aspects of one’s trip.
Content Quality
10/10
I love the quality of the site. As far as graphics go, I would say theirs are sharp and attractive. As I look around even, I get lured into daydreaming about going on vacations in the places that are pictured.
Site effectiveness
10/10
Overall, this site is very effective. It makes the process of planning a vacation fairly simple. It amazes me at just how much they do to assure that everyone’s needs are catered to.
Decent design

Overall design
7/10
My first impressions were that this site really wants its customers to contact them so that they can be helped in any way possible. Because on every page it says connect with us or connect with a consultant. Also, they really seem to try to make it as easy as possible for people to schedule a vacation. Even the last-minute schedulers. Because there is a page that says, “last minute deals”. I would say they did a fantastic design of their main page by putting the companies’ main values on it. The only thing I do not like about the website is that on the main page as one scrolls down there are some tabs that stay where they’re at. As you can see in my screen shot there are the tabs on top that say “vacation, destination etc. Those stay where the are as one scrolls through the sites content. And I do not like that because it distracts from the other features of the page. There is one aspect that I love and that is when one looks up a place to go on vacation there are representatives that pop up who customers can contact to get more information about their trip. When each contact pops up there is a phone number and a little biography about the employee and their traveling experience.
Navigation
9/10
Overall, the navigation is simple and straightforward. At least I did not find it difficult to get around the website.
Functionality
9/10
This website is highly functional as it portrays literally any kind of vacation that a person would want to go on. And it promotes those vacations to almost all age groups.
Content Quality
9/10
I loved looking around at all the pictures that the sight had to offer. They were very clear and crisp and would make anyone excited about taking a vacation. They also have quality content on employees. I don’t know that I have ever seen little biographies about travel consultants, but liberty travel displays their consultant’s travel experiences which is very helpful when a potential vacationer is wondering if they are going to relate to someone who has taken trips before. Or just a random employee who has not actually experienced the region one wants to visit.
Site effectiveness
10/10
Overall, this site is very effective, and I would not be opposed to booking a trip with them. They show that they really care about a customer’s trip planning even before their customer goes on the vacation. For example, they make it easy to connect with a travel consultant. And they make last minute trip options available for those who want to go in the spur of the moment. I would say some of the most effective sites are ones that go the extra mile for their customer to have a great experience and this site definitely does that.
